Kaposi’s sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV), also known as

human herpesvirus 8 (HHV-8), is the infectious cause of Kaposi

sarcoma and at least two lymphoproliferative disorders: primary

effusion lymphoma and multicentric Castleman’s disease.
